It's a Great Day for a Walk!
©2009 begin with a Sunny Outlook
Make exercise and outdoor activity a part of your everyday outdoor living. Walking, jogging, or riding your bike in the great outdoors can keep yourself young at heart.

Ready! Set! Go!
EVER SO OFTEN, WHILE DRIVING near to where I live, I pass a very, very elderly woman who is out for a walk. Yes, I am in my car, and this old woman is WALKING! But every time I see her walking down the sidewalk at a snail’s pace, with cane in hand, I think ‘what a great attitude’. How amazing it is to see this lady embrace her life. She is the energizer bunny! She still cares enough about herself that she faces even cold temperatures, bundled up and ready to get moving.
It’s probably safe to say that when she is looking in the mirror to fix her hair, or getting out of a chair, she is reminded of her age. But for the rest of the time, she is twenty in her heart and mind. I hope to see her walking for a long time to come.
I am happy to say that I know a number of older people who share this lady’s youthfulness. From the wisdom of older folks come valuable lessons. Compared to them we are youngsters and if they can do it, we can too. No more excuses that we don’t have time or that we are too tired to exercise in some way. Each of us can consult with our own doctors, and if we have the go ahead for the exercise of our own liking, we can commit to taking better care of our own health. Because, after all, we too are still twenty in our own heart and mind. And besides, being active may be just the ticket for recharging your Sunny Outlook!
