AFTER A GOOD SNOW, have the entire family go outside to make a snowman family. Everyone can build their own snowman to their own height. Then each family member can add their own personal touches to accessorize their snowman: a certain hat, a colorful scarf, special buttons, etc. What a great photo-op for the family album (and perhaps the photo for the Christmas card)! By this time everyone will be ready for a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows.

More Ideas: Make a hefty snowman. Give it a hat that allows for a ‘well’ to be formed in the top of it. Fill the ‘well’ with bird seed. Give the snowman sturdy twigs for arms to provide the visiting birds a place to rest. A secured carrot nose makes a good perch, also. Take note of all the different kinds of birds that come to dine on the bird seed. Don’t forget to refill the seed.
